~In Love with Death~

サティシュ・モディ氏は、「死を愛すること」の著者であり、モディ・グローバル・エンタープライズの会長です。インド初のオフショア投資信託であるJ.P.モルガン・インディア・ファンドを立ち上げ、設立以来2021年まで同ファンドの会長を務めています。現在、インドに特化した別のオフショアファンドとの提携を進めています。

慈善事業、教育機関、芸術などを幅広く支援しており、慈善大使の主要メンバーでもあります。アメリカの有名大学と提携し、インドの教育機関を通じて、映画製作の分野で上級コースを提供しています。

​

モディ・グローバル・エンタープライズの会長であるモディ氏は、インド及び世界で主導的な役割を果たしているファミリービジネスの一員です。父である故ライ・バハドゥール・グジャール・マル・モディ氏はモディ工業グループを設立し、1933年に工業都市モディナガルを建設しました（現在の人口50万人。インドの首都圏に含まれる）。

モディ氏はこの都市をさらに発展させ、近代的なインフラや施設を提供するだけでなく、芸術や文化のさまざまな側面に焦点を当てた「夢の都市」をモディナガルに作ろうとしています。

モディ氏は、ルフトハンザとの提携により、インド初の民間航空会社ModiLuftを設立し、この航空会社をインドの大手民間航空会社SpiceJetとして再出発させたことで知られています。

​

2000年5月、モディ氏と妻のアバ氏は、芸術とクリエイティブ・デザインの分野で学生に質の高い教育を提供するために、国際美術学院（IIFA）を設立しました。

アメリカの有力な協力者とともに、インド初の医療都市も設立しています。

モディ氏は「死を愛すること」という本を執筆しています。本書の目的は、人々が死ぬことへの恐怖を克服し、死を前向きにとらえ、善意、愛、思いやりに満ちた人生を送る動機付けになることです。イギリス、アメリカのほかに、タイ、中国、香港、シンガポール、マレーシア、インドで発売されています。世界中の複数の映画制作者が、「死を愛すること」を題材にした映画やテレビの連続ドラマの制作に関心を寄せています。

モディ氏はインド国内外で数多くの賞や栄誉を受賞しています。CGPIによる慈善事業修士号の学位授与。そして、インドでの慈善活動や他者を擁護する役割が評価され、イギリスの慈善大使創設者である、デイム・ステファニー・シャーリー氏から慈善大使に任命されています。

Satish Modi is the author of “In Love With Death” and Chairman of Modi Global Enterprises. Satish Modi started India’s first offshore mutual fund – J.P. Morgan India Fund and he has been the Chairman of the fund since its inception till year 2021. He is in advanced stage of tying up for another India focused Offshore fund.

He supports a wide range of charities, educational institutions, and the arts, and is a leading member of Ambassadors for Philanthropy.He is tying up a renowned University of United States to offer advanced courses in India in the field of Film Making through an existing Indian Educational Institution. 
 
Satish Kumar Modi, Chairman of Modi Global Enterprises, is part of a family business that plays a leading role in India and increasingly in the world. His father, the late Rai Bahadur Gujar Mal Modi, founded the Modi Industrial Group and in 1933 built the industrial city of Modinagar, which now has a population of 500,000 and is part of the National Capital Territory of Republic of India.
 
He is now trying to further develop the city and create a "Dream City" in Modinagar that will not only provide modern infrastructure and facilities, but also focus on various aspects of art and culture.
 
He is best known for his partnership with Lufthansa to create ModiLuft, India's first commercial private airline, and for relaunching this airline as SpiceJet, India's leading commercial airline. 
 
In May 2000, Satish Modi and his wife Abha founded the International Institute of Fine Arts (IIFA) to provide quality education to students in the fields of art and creative design.

Mr. Modi is setting up the a medical city in India with a leading American collaboration.
 
He has also written a book titled “In Love with Death”. The purpose of the book is to help people overcome their fear of dying and motivate them to view death positively and live a life filled with goodness, love and compassion. The book has been released in Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and India, in addition to the United Kingdom and the United States. Several filmmakers around the world have expressed interest in producing film or television serial based on "In Love with Death."
 
He has received numerous awards and honours in India and abroad, and CGPI has awarded Master of Philanthropy degree to Mr. Modi. He was named "Ambassador of Philanthropy" by Dame Stephanie Shirley, Founder Philanthropic Ambassador of the United Kingdom, for his philanthropic work in India and his role as an advocate for others.

小林康夫氏の専門は表象文化論・現代哲学。哲学からアート・文学・建築・ファッションまで幅広い分野での批評的活動をこれまで展開しています。

UTCP（University of Tokyo Center for Philosophy）のセンター長を十年以上つとめ、そこを拠点に各国の研究者とのさまざまな共同研究を行っています。

多くの著書・編集本・翻訳があり、最近では、対話の重要性についても語っている『若い人のための１０冊の本』（筑摩書房、プリマー新書 2019年12月）、最近著では『日常非常、迷宮の時代ーーオペラ戦後文化論（Ⅱ）1970-1995』（未来社、2020年9月）などを出版しています。

He was a professor at the University of Electro-Communications, a professor at the University of Tokyo's College of Liberal Arts, and a professor at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences before assuming his current position.

He specializes in representational culture theory and contemporary philosophy. He has been critically active in a wide range of fields from philosophy to art, literature, architecture, and fashion.

He has been the director of UTCP (University of Tokyo Center for Philosophy) for more than ten years, and has conducted various collaborative research projects with researchers from around the world based there.
He is the author of numerous books, edited volumes, and translations. Recently, he has published a book, "A Radical Questioning of Humanity: Purgatory in French Contemporary Philosophy" (Suiseisha).
